Refining Mesh in Fluent?

When you guys refine your mesh, do you do it in the program you generated your mesh in or can you do it in Fluent?

What do you mean, when?
In which software you are creating the mesh, or you are using your own code?
To validate your CFD results with the available experimental results or numerical data, one has to refine our mesh.
That's why, Grid Independence study has been done.

Best of luck!!!

I'm generating my mesh in ANSYS Workbench and running the simulation in FLUENT. I'm just looking for ways to refine my mesh. Can you refine your mesh in FLUENT or only in the workbench?

You can refine the mesh in Fluent using the adaption tool in the ADAPT menu, it work fairly well, at least for tetra meshes.

If you over did it with the meshing you can also do coarsening of the mesh, or try the conversion to polyhedrals -> found under Mesh.

Cool thanks. Which option in the adapt menu is it?

Except from the last 5 Options they are all for mesh refinement, it depents on what you want.

If you want to create refinement boxes, the Region option is your choise.
