Hello, I realize this is a very simple question, but is there any straightforward and easy way to set up Fluent to collect unsteady flow statistics after a certain number of iterations? Say if I am running a case for 10000 total time-steps and I want to start collecting statistics after 5000 time-steps, is there an easy way to have it automatically start collecting, without having to stop the simulation, check the 'collect statistics' box, and then restart the run? Thank you!

Hi~
Maybe you can use a journal to run your case automatically.
But, you still need to stop the simulation before alter the 'collect statistics' option.

Hello Amanbearpig,

Well nothing is simple for beginners. So it's good to ask and learn.

It's best to autosave you .dat file wherever you want. Like your question you want to save your statistics every 5000 then the better would be save your .dat file.
It's in the solve, and then in auto save every(iteration), define whatever you feels like and in edit you can also define how many current entries you need.
And the best thing is that you can get the stats whenever you want.

Further the best way to learn is go into edit and then hit help. There you can learn more.

I hope i answer your question. And please pardon my English.

Regards
