Solid particles in a flow

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I'm trying to simulate individually defined solid particles (as shows the attached figure) in a fluid of the same or almost the same density.
I have set the VOF multiphase model and define the particles as fluid with very very high viscosity and the fluid is a Newtonian fluid. Both materials have same density.
The problem is when I run the simulation particles are united into a unique volume. I don't want to happen this, in other words particles must not mix together.
I try it to do it as solid material but the interface between the faces is defined as wall and the particles don't move with the fluid.
If anyone can help me, I would be very grateful.
If you have any other idea or way to do the same or something similar it will be welcome.
