hello..

i want to simulate combustor chamber with air and fuel mass flow rate 1 litre and 0.5 litre respectively and axial velocity 0.5 m/s and swirl number - 0.066.

but i dont know how and where i can insert the value of swirl number
in the boundary condition....

if have any idea about this case help me please

thanx ,,,,,

blackmask will become famous soon enough
Find the definition of swirl number and calculate the tangential velocity yourself.

That is part of his signature rather than response. As I said before, you need to decide what kind of vortex could be representative for you inlet. Then you can calculate the parameters according to the swirl number. You can search with the term "Batchelor vortex" for an example. However as I recalled the axial velocity is not be uniform so that the mass flux rather than the axial velocity distribution will be guaranteed.

thank you black smak

let us suggest situations like (vortex) and suggest numbers

and if we divide tangential velocity by axial and equal it with swirl number to find tangential velocity .....

please make numbers and let it very clear please it still very very vague..

Regards....

Let the axial and tangential velocity of some axisymmetric vortex be U(r; a) and V(r; q), where a and q are the parameters to be determined. Then the mass flux
MF = Integrate[U(r;a), {r, 0, R}] = f(a)
and the swirl number
SN=Weighted Integral of V(r;a) / Weighted Integral of U(r;a) = g(a, q)
can be calculated.

Then a and q can be determined for a given mass flux and swirl number so are the velocity profiles for you inlet boundary condition.

To be honsety with you i can't understand you very well

It seems that you have good idea about this (Inserting Swirl Number in Ansys)

Many people want to know how to do it..........many questions ....

Please if you can make an example...to explain how to put swirl number in ansys. help us please

In the example clarify fuel and air inlet mass flow rate and swirl number and ... and ... you can assume it ....

and step by step make the calculation and let us know how you can put the swirl number value in ansys

pictures very usefull if you can upload it...

thank you very
