Hi!

I'll explain you why I'm doing, to help you to understand my trouble.

I have to simulate a duct , in whose interior I have twisted tapes (which separates the fluid at two). At the outer side, I have to put an element, which have a uniform heat flux at its upper side. It emulates a weld between the duct and other element, which doesn't matter.

So, I have these choices:
  • Mesh each thing by separated: mesh with tape & fluid, other with tube and other with weld.
  • Mesh fluid & tape and tube, and other mesh with the weld
  • Mesh fluid & tape, and mesh the duct and weld

Because of the first one gives troubles (one of the fluid zones gets warm but the other rests cold), and the third one gives a little temperature error at the boundary layer between the fluid and the duct (not a problem, it could be due to the models, etc...), but I want to try the second one, to try to get out the previous error.

My doubt is if when I create the grid interface in Fluent between the outer side of the ducth, with the little element above the duct, the grid interface will link all the outer side of the duct, or just the covered part by the weld?

As you can see, at this option, I can't create a face where I put the weld face

I wait your answers!

Here I attach the cross section of the problem. The upper element is the weld, and you can see the duct and the inner side, with the tape.
