Writing CD and max temp to excel file

Hi everyone,

I'm working on an optimization problem where I'm finding the minimum drag coefficient possible in a supersonic flow, without going over a max temperature. In order to use these two values I need them printed and available independently to work with in my matlab code. I know how to find them in fluent itself, but I just can't find the way to export them to an excel file for easy access.

I've tried writing the "Force Reports" window to excel, but it doesn't put the values in a cell so I can't get at them in matlab.

Does anybody know of a way to export CD and max temp from fluent to excel?

Thanks a ton

So you have the data you want in a text file?
If so, use the data import function of excel:rolleyes:

I don't believe so. I can only find the data visually in Fluent, by using the "Force Reports" tab and also by making a contour of static temperature. I can see the data, but as I'm trying to make an automatic optimization process I don't want to need to manually find and input these values back into matlab.

I got it. You can write different variables to text files under the monitors tab. Thanks for your response though.
