Hi everyone,
I met an odd problem when using Fluent 14.0. I run a simple case in our workstation (Win7 64bit OS) in parallel processing. But it always interrupt with:
Error:
Parallel FLUENT received fatal signal (ACCESS_VIOLATION)
1. Note exact events leading to error.
2. Save case/data under new name.
3. Exit program and restart to continue.
4. Report error to your distributor.

However, when I ever run the same case with Fluent 13.0 in the same machine, this error didn't happen. Also, I run this case with Fluent 14.0 in my PC (Win32 OS), there is no such error issues.

Now I want to know how to overcome this error in Fluent 14.0. Is there somebody kindly enough to provide any suggestions.

Thanks

Do you use UDF in you simulation?
If yes, you've probably using UDM and you forget to launch them before keep running.

Hi "A CFD free user",
Thanks for your reply.
In my case, UDF is not used. And the case always interruts after hundreds time-steps.

Hi
I actually encounter this error when I forget to run UDM before I start simulation. Maybe there is problem regarding the boundary conditions. Once I had a problem the same as you when I working on a axisymmetric stirred tank and I wouldn't notice to the hint in user guide concerning the right selection axis for rotation! You might have a look at the B.C again to be sure that you used them appropriately.

Hi everyone,
It seems I find the reason for my problem.
To get rid of all possible reason, I unistall all other softwares in my Workstation, and then install the Ansys angin, the error doesn't occur. Even though I don't know which exactly software is incompatible with Fluent, it may provide some advice for someone facing the same error.
