Is there a way to find out if a solution was calculated using single or double precision without the simulation log?

Dont't you have the case file? If not, I don't think there is a way to do that. Because the data file only have information about the fields calculated, the time and some other information

I do have the case file, but I ran the simulation via the command line and a journal file, i.e. either fluent 2d -g -i journal.jou or fluent 2ddp -g -i journal.jou. At some point I realized I wasn't really paying attention if I used 2d or 2ddp :/

Sorry, I misundertood your question, I thought that you were asking about spatial discretization. But now less than before, I don't know how can you realize if the solution was run with single or double. May be looking at the residuals, if they converged too fast, may be you used single precision. Another posibility is run the solution with one precision (single or double), then compare with the old one: if they are equal then you chosed the correct one, if not is the other posibility. Use a coin to chose wich one to run . good luck
