Hello,
For my simulation I need to create two materials for the porous zone ie the particle fluid and solid. The solid is a 3rd silicon and the rest oxygen, the fluid is salt water. When I go to create a user defined mixture I can select these materials, but how do I specify the volume fractions? In CFX you can simply specify your porous domain and then list the materials you require in the specified boxes and then their volume fractions.
Thank-you!

In Fluent, you need to know permeability(the inverse of viscous resistance) and porosity to be able to define porous media. Just define the corresponding zone in any preprocessor as fluid and then in cell zone condition, set the values for permeability and porosity. Besides, you can modify the properties for solid in porous media such as conductivity as well.

I think you would have to do this at your inlet to the porous section (species tab). That is typically where I'm able to set the mass or molar fractions of the species in a mixture.
