Hello,

I am trying to model the flow from a tube towards a porous media. I define two parts in geometry, and create a named selection in mesh section for the interface between the bodies. In Fluent I also define a mesh interface. I set up the variables and what I get as a result is that the flow doesn't go much further after the interface as it acts as a huge block in the flow. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
I appreciate your help.

you don't need to define interfaces.
Interfaces in the sense of Fluent are usefull for glueing 2 meshes which are not connected. (and not an interface between 2 phases)
So you need to reconnect both domain, and you also need to assign 2 different continuum (1 fluid and 1 porous)

Thanks.
But how can I reconnect the domains? I am developing the model is ANSYS model designer, and defining two body parts there. I think I need to have 2 lines for the boundary b/w fluid and porous to make separate parts. When I go to Fluent these lines are set to wall B.C.

I have 0-experience with Ansys. I only explained what you should do in Gambit for Fluent

probably there should be a similar way to do what you said, I'll try to reconnect the zones then.

I appreciate your help )
