exporting refined mesh to Fluent
I have been developing a refined mesh in order to gain a better element balance across a combustion can. I read on another thread that Fluent should accept 2-1 refinement but I keep getting the error below, I'm sure I'm just missing something as I'm getting a lot of multiple edge warnings as well. Do I need to put a surface between the two different structure and merge them?
Note: Separating wall zone 21 into zones 21 and 2.

The mesh exports from ICEM ok and there are no issues with the unrefined mesh so it just something up with that step. Have attached a couple of pics so hopefully the above makes sense

This was a mixture of user error and a gremlin which disappeared after resetting everything. Should have probably tried that first!
I am suitably embarrassed!
Still to see what the results are like but fluent is much happier now!
This clearly hasn't worked
Umm I ran the aforementioned mesh in fluent (eventually) and the fluid does not seem to be transiting across the boundary between the refined mesh and the non-refined mesh. Any thoughts on how this might be addressed?
The flow should diverge but it is retained within the centre indicating the existence of some kind of wall, please see pic
Make sure you don't have a surface between the mesh parts. In ICEM, turn on all your shells and then turn off the outside wall part. Your domain should be empty. If it is empty but this is still happening, run a mesh check with "uncovered faces" enabled.
