Hi all,
I will be grateful if someone could explain me the details of dpm injections. Why do we prescribe both mass flow rate and velocity? what is really the mass flow rate? if the number of particles or parcels injected is dictated by the number of cells (surface injection) what happens for the parameters we have imposed (velocity and flow rate)? One particle in your simulation (hereafter "simulation particle") represents many particles in reality.
The 'mass flow rate' indicates how many real particles are associated to one simulation particle. If you have one simulation of 1 mg, and the 'mass flow rate' is 20 mg/s, it means that this one simulation particle corresponds to 20 particles per second in reality. |
