Porous Media initial temperature calculation and definition

Hi CFD experts,
I want to simulate heat transfer through heated porous zone. While cold air passes through porous media which results in raising temperature of air.

initially air is at 300k
mass flow is 3kg/sec
air temperature after leaving porous zone should be around 500k

transient analysis is required to be done for 10 seconds.

Now the question is:
how to calculate and define initial temperature of porous zone?

You mean to define an initial teperature only for porous zone?

If this is your problem you can try, after solution initialization, to patch a temperature to the zone you want, with the bondary condition for air at 300 k.

Thanks for your response M123. I will try it for sure.

well, patching defines initial temperature to porous zone, raising the air temperature passing through it.
Now i want to study the temperature drop in porous zone as a result of heat transfer from porous zone to air.
ANY IDEAS?
