Modelling of open channel

URGENT!!!!!
Guys, i am a bit confused regarding the modelling of open channel. There are two options which are- (i) defining a rectangular body for channel filled with water and then, just defining its top surface as free surface. (ii) defining two rectangular bodies one over the another such that lower body is channel filled with water and upper body is air. Also defining the interface condition as free surface. Which option is best suited? If none of them, what is the method to model the open channel to simulate and analyse using fluent? |
