Dear all,
I try to make a 2D model which describes a box of 0.15 x 0.30 m. The inital temperature of the fluid (water) is 283K. The left wall is cooled to 263K and the right wall stays at 283K. I used the solidification model to model the formation of ice on the left wall. I defined the density of the fluid as a piecewise-lineair function. With a lot of topics and literature on convergence I found out that just monitoring the standard residuals will not give me an idea of the convergence of the solution. Therefor I think that monitoring the global sum of the mass, momentum and thermal residuals is better to find whether the solution converges. My question is, how can I monitor these quantities and do you think this will give good results? Thank you. |
