I am in the R&D wing of a petrochemical company, and would like to grow up a CFD group. I am a bit confused about the serial or parallel licensing options. What are the pros and cons of them? Right now it might be 1 or 2 users, but in near future would be about 5 users. So, one thing: I would like to go for network versions. If I go for a 32 core workstation, what factors should I consider while opting for either a serial or parallel license? I want to make sure that I go for a license which will make proper utilization of the computer capability. Also, if my simulation has say 3 to 4 million cells, is 32 core multicore workstation suitable?

1. A serial license will allow the solver to use only one CPU core even if I have a multi-core machine like i7. Is that correct?
2. Does the choice of serial vs parallel also depend on number of users?
3. I can run 2 simulations on the same machine, only if it is a parallel license. Is that correct?
