Dear all. For heating a solid zone by a moving heat source (laser source) in the x direction, I use an UDF for this case .the heat flow is applied on the top of this zone (solid). the same UDF for heat source, when I applied for solid zone only, I got a very good results (using define_profile ) the distribution of temperature is very good , and we obtain shape of the melt pool (a good penetration of the heat source in the solid zone). And if I applied this UDF in VOF (solid + air (additional zone)).The coordinates of solid zone are (0,0,0) ,(50, 0 , 0 ), (0,-20,0) (50, -20, 0) on the top of this zone there is air zone coordinates (0,0,0) ,(50, 0 , 0 ), (0,20,0) ,(50,2 0 , 0 ) model there isn't a results (good or bad). In VOF model. I take: Zone (laser), type (wall), phase (filler matter=solid zone) for this case the wall panel was deactivated. I obtain this message (this page is not applicable under current settings). I change filler matter to mixture, the heat source propagates in the air (no penetration in solid zone).can all help me and give idea. Thank's .
