Modelling a shock tube in ANSYS Fluent
I'm new to ANSYS Fluent, so sorry if this is a basic question. I use Trelis for meshing.
I basically want to model a shock tube, where pressurized air is kept behind a diaphragm in an enclosed tube, and at t=0 the diaphragm bursts and the pressurized air propagates in the enclosed tube. I don't need to model the bursting of the diaphragm. From what I understand, I require two cells, one for the initial pressurized air, and the other for the rest of the tube. In this case, do I use Multiphase with 2 Eulerian phases? How exactly do I model it? What about the meshing, do I basically have two different cell zones for each part of the tube? Sorry for the many questions, I am really new to this, I'm more experienced with ABAQUS/Explicit and CFD. I've been looking for a simple 1D shock tube tutorial to base my simulation on but to no avail. |
