I had a .cas file, abc123.cas
I imported it in FLUENT, and iteration is over.
I saved the results in different name.
These are def456.cas & def456.dat

The magnitude of abc123.cas is 606MB, but that of def456.cas is only 405MB.

What happened here??
It happened in my case only?
If not, what kind of information is deleted or transferred?
If transferred, to where?

I didn't find a weird thing in def456.cas file yet, but I'm worrying that there may be some significant change or lack.

Thanks in advance.

blackmask will become famous soon enough
Perhaps due to case file saved in ASCII or BINARY mode.

Thank you for reply.
Can you explain details? I don't understand what you mean.

Anyway you mean this is not uncommon?

It is common. After reading your either case file, click File/Write case file, see the difference between files when you check and un-check "Write binary files" option.
