Hi there.
I have many questions about this simulation. Hopefully IŽll capture the attention of this forum members and get some help. I'll be adding those questions one after another so you don't get bored. I more or less have been successful in simulating a body slamming against water when dropped from 1m above water surface, flowing at 27m/sec, and getting stresses and deformations. This is a 2 way FSI between transient structural and fluent, using open channel and explicit method with two phases being air and water. My first question is: if the water and air is flowing at 27 m/s , the body falls (due to gravity) from 1m above water level, and its dimensions are 15m length, and about 4 m2 cross section, what should be the dimensions of my "open channel box", and what height should I use for the water level from the bottom? Should my flow be subcritical or supercritical.If supercritical, then my water level should be higher than y>V^2/9.81 >74m from the bottom? The total time period iŽm using its about 0.6 to 0.8 seconds. The time step about .0074 for a minimum cell size of 0.2m . I'm open to any other suggestions. Thanks |
