Hi all,
I have created a surface (XZ) in Gambit (z is directed downwardly), I have meshed the geometry, but when I try to export 2-D mesh to Fluent it returns me this error:
Error: A 2d export was requested but the mesh is not planar within the tolerance defined in the default FILE_I0.MESH.EXPORT_2D_TOLERANCE.
All mesh nodes must lie on the XY plane or a parallel plane within tolerance.
Errors were found during export. Export file was not created.
Please why can I expport 2d mesh lie on the XZ plane?
Thank you very mutch

I think you need to create your 2D mesh in the XY plane....give it a try!

Fluent only accepts 2D meshes in XY plane. XZ and YZ are not allowed. Sorry you have to redo the mesh in Gambit. Don't ask why a Duck does not roar like a Lion.

Unlike some pseudo 2D solvers which are actually 3D solvers with symmetry boundary conditions applied on Z+ and Z- boundaries, 2D Fluent actually is 2D.

Thank very mutch for your reply
I try to creat my 2D mesh in the XY plane, but I need that one axis is directed to the bottom, so in "Orient Model command" (Gambit),
the two axes are directed upwards.
Thank you so mutch
