Default How to create hydrostatic pressure in the fluent

Dear all

How can I create the hydrostatic pressure in the fluent?

for example imagine a pool is filled with water at the beginning(t =0) therefore the water must have hydrostatic pressure in the pool. then another fluid is entered to the bottom of pool under pressure via a pipe.
how can I create the hydrostatic pressure of water

yes lucktarn, I select the water as primary phase and enable the gravity. but hte hydrostatic pressure of water doesn't create!

It's because when you enable gravity the pressure is redefined as in equation (7-54) here: https://www.sharcnet.ca/Software/Flu...et_hydrostatic

What you're plotting as static pressure is now p'. If you want to visualize the hydrostatic head, you can quickly define a Custom Field Function that computes p = p' + \rho g y, or just \rho g y.

I usually set operating density to 0 to get hydrostatic pressure (and enable gravity).

can I write an UDF for hydrostatic pressure and apply it to the pressure outlet boundaries to create hydrostatic pressure?

I think the custom field function is easiest to implement.

Dear Luckytran and ghost 82

If I want that at t=0 which there is only water (density =1000) in the whole domain with its hydrostatic pressure and after that another fluid with density 5 is about to enter the domain, I should set the operating density to zero as well ?
