Hi there!

In a combustion of gaseous mixture, I use Composition PDF Transport model, transient and pressure based, with species specific heat defined by polynomials and the reaction is Arrhenius dependent. I need to know how FLUENT predicts the next time step temperature, if you can help me. What formula does it use? In user guide I found properties dependent by temperature, but the temperature is dependent by WHAT?!
Thank you!

I suggest reading some introductory texts on the finite volume method.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finite_volume_method

It depends on the temporal discretization scheme and whether the solution of the scheme is implict or explicit. In explicit scheme, it is a forward marching of the problem in time based on values at the current time-step (see also the shooting method). In the implicit scheme, it involves solving system of equations for the unknown temperatures at the new time-step using the available information at the previous time-step.

Thanks a lot! It does not help me; I want to know how FLUENT INCREASES THE TEMPERATURE FOR FOLLOWING STEP. Not equations in a general mode. FLUENT does not respect even what is wrote in it's user guide.
