simulate a radiator

hi
Does anyone know how can i simulate a radiator with 70c surface temperature in a room?Should i combine natural convection with radiation models?i want to see radiator's effect on temperature of room,i have no experience in this case :( can you lead me?:(

thank you
NazaniN

Hello Nazanin,
you have to activate gravity in order to model natural convection: I suggest using Boussinesq approximation because it helps convergence.
In your case maybe radiation is negligible, anyway you can activate it afterwards: try with a simpler model first, you can complicate it more and more.

hi again and thanks Bionico :)
because my radiator is a glass radiator so I think radiation model is very important in this case and i haven't any Experience in use Radiation models, In your opinion Which model of radiation is better for this case and other Key Settings for that model?

thanks
NazaniN

Dear Nazanin,
in presence of transparent or semi-transparent walls you should use DO Model for radiation (otherwise you can use S2S).I suggest reading carefully Fluent Manual about Radiation (it's well explained what are the limitations of every models).

Best regards
