Hello I am an undergrad trying to analyze a tip-dihedral wing. I have a decent experience with static structural so making the mesh was not really a problem. Due to being tip-dihedral it can be ran as a 2D model
My total lift is coming out to be -.03lbf but according to hand calculations and prior senior design projects the wing should be at or around 55lbf. I named my inlet velocity and outlet pressure. I am running steady state for time. My viscosity is is k-epsilon standard. I am just running the preset air in the fluent data base for a material. For the inlet velocity the magnitude is 50 ft/s with an x-component flow direction as 1. At the outlet pressure the gauge pressure is 0 lb/ft^2. My surrounding flow channel is set to interior. My reference values are computed from the inlet velocity. I did not mess with the default solution control. I am monitoring the residuals but plotting lift only in the Y direction (up). I initialization the solution from the inlet velocity. I am running my system until it converges based on residuals. I have tried mesh increasing the quality of my mesh but my numbers end up similar. Any ideas? |
