T_0 = T[1+(gamma-1)*(M^2)/2] CpT_0 = u^2/2 + Cp*T

where T_0 is the Total temperature and T is the static temperature. If u consider a fluid flowing and consider a fluid particle if this particle is brought to rest adiabatically then the temperature measured by the particle is called Total temperature or stagnation temperature. where the other T is called static temperature. The temperature measured by ur thermometer and ohter insturments.
