Hi everyone,

I read the cfd manual, and have a doubt about eulerian model. it is about the use of averaging techniques and closure assumptions in eulerian model. can any one explain what do averaging technique and closure assumption mean? "the derivation of conservation equations can be done by ensemble averaging the local instantaneous balance for each of the phases", what does this sentence mean? detailed explanation will be highly appreciated!
