I am currently trying to simulate the water hammer phenomenon for an inviscid flow with Fluent.
To do so, I have used a power point presentation provided below along with the numerical results for this case. I started with initial BC: pressure inlet , and mass flow rate outlet-open. after the convergence, i changed the BC for the outlet in order to create a closed valve (as shown below) and then i run the calculations again. Unfortunately, the simulation does not seem to be valid compared to numerical results. the pressure variation chart (provided below) that i found, shows a pressure drop which is not logical, as there should be no pressure drop if we are using an inviscid flow. Does anyone have an idea of what could be the problem ! Thanks |
