convert FLUENT mesh file to CFX mesh file??
I'd like to know if it's possible to export a case file or mesh file from FLUENT and to CFX?? Basically, is there a common format to these two codes?? I know that one can use the PASTRAN format, but some informations are lost in the transfer, like the boundary's condition. so if you know about a specific "procedure" to obtain a mesh file for CFX from a FLUENT mesh file, please let me know!! Thank you in advance.

Re: convert FLUENT mesh file to CFX mesh file??
At least some time ago Fluent converted all cells into shells when exporting to Nastran/Patran but TGrid did it in the right way. I have no idea how to transfer the boundaries.

thanks for the tip. I'll try to use tgrid and see what's going on!

Hello,
What grid generator did you make the original mesh in ? If you used GeoMesh (ICEM P-CUBE) ICEM CFD Engineering have a direct translator (inc boundary conditions) from a P-Cube domain to CFX. regards David (ICEM UK) |

I'm effectively using GEOMESH! I'm gonna check this direct translator possibility. Thanks! If i cannot do it, i'll probably ask you what procedure you are following!!

Hello,
I am interested also. Could you send me an email on the result of your test? jy |
