About RNG k-e

Hallo. In RNG k-e, what is eff. turbulent viscosity? What are its relations with turbulent viscosity and standard viscosity?

Is it true: eff.t.v.= t.v.+s.v.?

There is on web something about RNG?

Thank you very much Giovanni

Re: About RNG k-e

Please check out the on-line help or user guide, both of which contain details of the RNG formulation. The user guide also contains references to papers on RNG, which was developed by Professors Yakhot and Orszag.

Yes, it is true that the effective viscosity is the sum of laminar and turbulent viscosities. The equations used to obtain the turbulent viscosity are given in the documentation. However, the exact relation used for the "differential viscosity model" is proprietary to Fluent Inc. and is not published.

I am sure there must be something about RNG on the web, but I can't give you a link.
