FLUENT/GAMBIT on PC

Hy, this subject was discussed some months ago and I read the topics, but I think that now some more people have experience with changing from workstations to PC and Linux/NT. What is your experience about: 1.) stability of WIN NT 2.) Fluent: Parallel with NT 3.) Postproc. with linux 4.)graphics with PC in general (instead of SGI) 5.) Speed PC-Workstation, what technical data can be compared ? 6.) what do you recommend: NT or linux (or NT and linux) ? Thanks a lot jurek

I use GAMBIT and FIDAP on NT. They are still not very stable and somewhat tricky to use. Installation can be a problematic if you are upgrading. Most of errors on GAMBIT are not documented.

probably linux but I have been hearing reports that some people are getting useable results from WIN NT ... even when they're run in parallel

No problems with Gambit or fluent on NT, although haven't run parallel yet.
