Velocity inlet

i'm doing the simulation on 2 phase(water & air)flow in a horizontal pipe.which phase should i set as primary phase?why? during the setting of boundary condition, the velocity magnitude in velocity inlet is referred to the primary phase velocity or the secondary phase velocity?could anyone please help me to solve my doubt?thank you!

Re: Velocity inlet

According to the manual, the phase that has the lowest volume fraction must be the second phase.

kevin, then, during the setting of boundary condition, the velocity magnitude in velocity inlet is referred to the primary phase velocity or the secondary phase velocity?

Hallo Max, thank you for your help. I think the problem is how to choose the inlet and the outlet boundaries! for the velocity-inlet, pressure-inlet, pressure-outlet you ought to give the Volume-Fractions for the secondary phase! for an outflow you you need to give a Flow Weighting Rate! The quistion is how does VOF model work? Best regards Adel
