VOF and grid
 

Dears,

I am trying to analyse a simple ship hull by VOF model. Using an hybrid mesh (the only possible by Gambit, in this particular problem) the free-surface goes down abnormally. I have discussed about this with others and it seems that the problem is the type of mesh which must be structured instead.

Is it true?

1)U can't use all type of VOF schemes for any kind of mesh. 2) Try to enable the gravity

Dear Dave, I hope you refers to one of my previous messages about ship hull analysis.

My first problem is that, if I enable operating density (air), the free surface goes down.

According to you it is important to impose a profile (rho*g*z) for pressure in pressure outlet boundary condition below the ship, rater than a 0 Pa (gauge-pressure)?
