VOF and grid
Dears,
I am trying to analyse a simple ship hull by VOF model. Using an hybrid mesh (the only possible by Gambit, in this particular problem) the free-surface goes down abnormally. I have discussed about this with others and it seems that the problem is the type of mesh which must be structured instead. Is it true? Thank you very much Giovanni |
Re: VOF and grid
1)U can't use all type of VOF schemes for any kind of mesh. 2) Try to enable the gravity

Re: VOF and grid
Dear Dave, I hope you refers to one of my previous messages about ship hull analysis.
My first problem is that, if I enable operating density (air), the free surface goes down. According to you it is important to impose a profile (rho*g*z) for pressure in pressure outlet boundary condition below the ship, rater than a 0 Pa (gauge-pressure)? Thanks a lot Giovanni |
