Default turbulent viscosity

Dear all,

I am trying to analyse the airflow inside a 2-D rectangular box with the air entering under pressure through a large hole from the side and exiting through lots of little holes at the top. The airflow inside is very turbulent and swirls around a lot. When the realizable K-e viscous model is used a message stating that the "turbulent viscosity limited to viscosity ratio of 1.00e+5 in 362 cells" occurs. As the number of iterations proceeds the number of cells affected increases.

My question is what is causing this to occur, is it affecting the results, and if so how can it be removed. Any other ideas on solving this problem would also be greatly appreciated.

This also occurs when using the other K-e models and the Reynolds Stress viscous models. The BC's are a pressure inlet and outlet using fluent 5.0.

Thanks Warren
