Particle tracking in s.s and u.s.s fluid field.

Hi: What is different for particle tracking in s.s and u.s.s fluid field. I use DPM model in FLUENT 5.5 There are two way to track particle that is in steady state or in unsteady state fluid flow. Someone know what is different for this two way? What is correct for particle tracking? What condition is for s.s fluid field? What condition is for u.s.s fluid field
