Default user defined functions

can anyone please tell me how i initialize/activate the udf.h directory. my working directory is /app1/Fluent.Inc/fluent5.4/cortex/ultra/cortex.3.3.3and i run fluent on unix/solaris. can anyone tell me the command and if i sholud initialize it from within fluent(solver) or from the command tool.
