May fluent can simulate heat and mass transfer?

Hi: I want simulate heat and mass transfer to drying grass but I don't want simulate fluid flow. That is I want to solve heat and mass equation . can FLUENT do it ? Thank you very much?

Hi, Only one suggestion. You can try. set the velocity of the inlet is 0. Harry.

I don't think you can solve the problem without simulating the flow. The reasons are as follows:

Temperature and mass fraction distribution will make density non-uniform, which in turn will cause flow due to gravity (natural convection). Diffusion process is much slower than convection. In other words, convection, even though only natural as opposed to forced, will make larger contribution to mass transfer than diffusion. Therefore, unless you can justify that natural convection in your case is small, you can not predict right mass transfer without solving the flow.

Hi Thanks for your suggestion. I want to get temperature distribution in grass. My grass is very tight, and only water will evaporization .(by heat) so I want to simulate heat condition, and mass diffusion. I think your suggestion I will try to do it . Can fluent simulate heat and mass and gas transfer in solid matrial ? I only see it can simulate fluid in mass and heat and momentem transfer. Thanks!!!!
