limitations of gambit

Problem.

I am trying to create a 3-D model of a Br710 engine nacelle using Gambit 1.1, with the area modelled being the "zone". The zone consists of two inlets and a pressure outlet. With one of the inlets delivering a fire exstinguishant. What i am trying to do is build the model using segmented volumes, which are identical bar the one with the inlet for the fire extinguisher. Then once the model has been run i can rearrange the volumes to give me a different position for the inlet.

However when i try to mesh together two of the most simple of shapes (like bricks) i recieve an error message saying that "the two volumes cannot be meshed as the lower topology is not consistent"

Questions

Can Gambit facilitate me in what i want to do? How can i create a consistent topology between two volumes? What other steps can i take to get an improved solution?
