periodic grid interface

hi,

I am trying to simulate the rotor-stator interaction problem(2d) using MRF model.if I keep equal pitch for both stator and rotor & declare periodic grid interface, the answer gets converged.

but if I use unequal pitches, then I cannot create periodic grid interface as one interface overlaps the other and the results are wrong even if it converges?

can someone explain the grid interface concept to me?and also about periodicity in these grid interfaces?and how it affects the results?

thanks and regards, santosh

Re: periodic grid interface

what kind of interface do u deal with between stator and rotor? mixing plane or moving mesh?

thank you for responding.the grid interface is of moving mesh type

Re: periodic grid interface

in my mind, moving mesh interface is to the problem with only pair of periodic face. that is, if u set periodic condition to the stator passage, then u must build the whole rotor for the model.
