POROUS MEDIA

Hello, I would like to know if it were possible to model porous media convective heat transfer in FLUENT 5.5. I am looking at 2-d case where the medium is encapsulated between two walls one at constant heat flux and the other at constant temperature, with the flow filed in the porous media. Thanks in advance, Murthy

Re: POROUS MEDIA

The convection with the walls will be performed, but not with the "solid" fraction of the porous medium itself.

Re: POROUS MEDIA

WIth regard to the message posted by Evan,I would like to know if it were possible to develop the energy eqaution for the porous media and embed this it into the solver( I have very little Idea of UDFs in FLUENT).Also I would like to know what would be the convetive heat transfer coefficient, do we use the capillary model for it. Thanks for the same, Murthy.
