Hello everyone, I am using Discrete Phase Model in Fluent5 to calculate the particle and gas flow. Does anyone know how to display the particle deposit efficiency on the wall? Which option can I use?

Thank you very much

The default particle boundary condition for the wall is 'REFLECT'. If particle fate of your system is 'deposition or collection(like cyclone separator)' at the wall, set the wall boundary boundary condition for the particle as 'ESCAPE or(TRAP)'.

Thanks a lot.

I want to get the deposition effeciency on the wall. For example 1g/s particles entering from the velocity inlet,0.1g or 0.7g particles deposite on the wall,so I can say the deposition effeciency is 10% and 70%. I want to see on different conditions, the deposition effeciency on the wall is different.

If we set the wall ESCAPE, because the velocity inlet and pressure outlet are all ESCAPE, how can we calculate the particles quautities on the wall?

Thanks again.

Sincerely

lucy

As far as I remember, Fluent reports particle fate to the zone number, respectively. So you can.

Another tip : For inert particle, ESCAPE and TRAP have same affect. So, you can set wall BC as TRAP, then you can distinguish both.

Sincerely, Jinwook
