hi cfd friends,

i tried to simulate steady flow in an rectangular tank with one velocity inlet boundary but i forgot to define outlet. Even then fluent5 (2ddp)is giving some answer. what may be the reson? is there any reasoning for this behaviour of fluent? pl. help me in understanding this behaviour of fluent.

hi, rates will vary depending on purpose of use and number of nodes(people at time), etc. mostly for educational inst. it will be around about rs. 25000/year pl. visit www.fluent.com bye

Mary Jane is very nice, but quite busy. Give Fluent headquarters a call, and they'll transfer you to Mary Jane LaJoice. Talk to her. She won't have all the answers. You may have to also talk to Kristy Heath or others.

They will train 2 or 3 of your faculty members, and they you can purchase manuals also. You can use windows or unix platforms for fluent.

The preprocessor, Gambit runs on unix but can also run on windows if you have Exceed. Fluent can help you get exceed at a discounted rate from Hummingbird.

If you want Ice-pak, fidap, T-grid, Fluent-Post, or other packages, they will charge extra for those. But Gambit and Fluent (which should come together), are enough for educational purposes.

I think they will ask about $2700 or something like that.

I also see that you are in Karachi, Pakistan. Perhaps you can contact Fluent India. They have an office in Pune. It's about time us Indians and Pakistanis start working together.

By the way, a simple solution will take a few days to learn, but it will take almost a year to be an expert at the software. Its a good package to consider buying.
