Dear friend, I am working on IC engine CFD modelling. We have Fluent at our institute but I found it is of no use for IC engine because it does not have deforming mesh model. Do you have Fluent 6 ? How are you planning to model the reciprocating motion of the piston in Fluent ? Regards.

Why are you trying to solve this problem in Fluent? Even Fluent admits that the deforming mesh stuff in version 6 is beta. You can get an inexpensive academic license of STAR-CD from CD adapco Group or you can get KIVA for free. Both are much better suited to this problem than Fluent, especially when you start considering advanced topics like sprays and combustion.
