Gambit 2 Boundary Layers

I have just switched to Gambit 2 and I am now having great difficulty using the boundary layer tool.

When I was using Gambit 1.3 I found it a little temperamental but now it is just giving me crap. I opened the 1.3 format files and the boundary layers are all over the place. I get a message saying that gambit cannot form the boundary layer "without intersection" and asking me to lower the height of the boundary layer. Everything was fine before that and I had successfully exported meshes from this model. Using Gambit had been a bit of an education in arcane errors, but this is a new one on me.

Then I started again with a new .dbs file, imported the geometry and started to attach boundary layers again. I got more problems. Gambit seemed to be trying to propagate the boundary layer into null space in my model. I tried to change the direction with shift-middle mouse button, but no joy.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Any idea what I can do?

The best option is to contact your local Fluent Support Engineer. Boundary Layers in general are much improved in Gambit 2, and should give a better result.

It will be very helpful if the problem can be sent to Clarify via the support engineer, so that I can look into it. Or in a sooner way, you can first provide me the database you used by attaching it to email.
