Hi all, I'm trying to simulate hydroplaning of tires.can anybody let me know how i can go about it? tell me how i can model both waterflow and tire rolling on the ground and the air flow around?I'm interested much in the water force trying to lift the tire touching from the ground. thanks for any help. Mavinakere.

adapco has done this several times, including the fluid-structure interaction calculations require to predict lift-off. contact them at www.cd-adapco.com to learn more.

Hi Calvin, thanks for your reply...it would be great if i know whether FLUENT INC has simulated this one. And i do not have Star CD Adapco software. Mavinakere.

I think it's pretty clear that if Fluent is saying that moving grid is a BETA feature, they probably can't do fluid-structure interaction. Your problem of not having STAR-CD software is easily remidied! See www.cd-adapco.com

Hallo,

FIDAP can perform FSI since Years and a collegue of mine has done something like that (and more complicated).

How and whether Star can do something like that, I don't know.
