How do I perform an animation during an unsteady calculation not through the GUI but through the command lines (to be written in a .jou file) ?

I am guessing here that you want an animation from the results of an unsteady state simulation?
In that case you should generate hardcopy files at every timestep, using the 'Execute commands' panel. Use one command to display e.g.contours of temperature:
then add a second command to generate a hardcopy
The %t adds the timestep to your filename.
Anyways, this procedure will end up with a bunch of hardcopies. I usually use tiffs, which I first convert to jpeg format, and then I use the freeware tool ImageN to generate an avi file.
Thanks very much, but my point was to perform these hard copies in a journal file and not trough the GUI. So I'd like to know the command I have to write in this .jou file like /solve/set/time-step 0.001 when you indicate the time step size in your journal file> Could you give me a hint?
