UDF to apply source to a group of cells
Hi!
I know that some coordinate locations can be specified that will bound a certain region of cells for applying source terms to them. But is there any other way, such as giving a name to a group of cells and then accessing those cell info in UDF in order to apply the source terms. I would appreciate if any body can help me in providing a solution for this. Thanking you, Hiranya |
Re: UDF to apply source to a group of cells
yes, it's possible:
in adapt, mark your region of cells. Fluent will create a register with the cells you marked. Go to grid - separate, select the option for registers, select your register and select a zone from wich your group of cells should be separated. OK Fluent will create a new zone. In the setting for the boundary conditions, you can rename the zone and apply your UDF. I hope this helps, Laika, still orbiting |

Hi Laika,
Nice to know that u r still orbiting! Thank you very much for the suggestion. Well, I have tried to separate a small zone and gave it a name. But it comes as an Interior zone, and I can not hook an UDF to this zone. Would you please suggest a work around for this? Thanks, Hiranya |
Re: UDF to apply source to a group of cells
What exactly have you done?
I just tried it, and I could separate easily a fluid zone. I can now apply every source-udf I want. Are you sure you had a register of cells? (use adapt-isovalue-grid) Laika, still orbiting |

oh! I am sorry, I was in some confusion, I could do it. Yeah, thanks a lot.
