problem about Importing geometry in Gambit

hi, there

I want to import a 3-D geometry in Gambit, I have the geometry in Autocad dwg files. How can I do it? Is it necessary to convert it to IGES file first? If so, do anybody know there are share software to do the conversion? Thanks for your advice.

I dont do it with Autocad, but I did it with SolidWork..It works with no problem....I think u can do it once u save the drawing in the suitable format so Gambit can read it...I remmond STEP format.. good luck

In auto-cad you have to join you model together using pedit, ie polyline. This is to make your drawing one complete solid.

Then type : acisout. If done coreectly a pop up screen should appear allowing you to export you drawing.

Then in gambit use import- acis. Hopefully that'll get your geometries into gambit.
