surface tension in VOF

Hi, I'm runing some 2D simulation of gas and liquid flow over tubes using the VOF model. The results are OK until I introduce the surface tension. The values I use are around 25 dynes/cm or 0.025 N/m as demanded by the panel in fluent. The problem I have is that when I introduce this value the results are, I think, not realistic. The surface became almost a plane (flat line). The tubes I use are in milimeters and I've changed the units in the grid->scale-change units option. I wonder if I need to change the surface tension units accordingly.

Thanks for any info.
