porous medium-velocity inlet a qn?

Hi In specifying the velocity(inlet)inside a porous medium say a pipe which opens into the porous zone(pipe tip being the velocity inlet), do we need to specify the actual velociy or the superficial velocity(at the tip)? Thanks.

Specify the superficial velocity. All porous media calculations in FLUENT use superficial velocity.

Thanks a lot Evan, that helped.
